Charles "Chuck" Wiley Monger Chuck was born on New Year's Day, 1917 in Washington County, Oklahoma. Chuck worked on a ranch in Missouri before going into the Seabees in 1942, serving until the war ended.
He returned to Boise, Idaho, and worked for Atkinson Mirror & Glass until his retirement in 1978. Chuck collected cans and donated the proceeds to Kuna High School, Shrine Hospital and the Freemason Lodge of Meridian Scholarship Fund.
Chuck received many awards for his involvement in The Vern Richards Memorial and Boise Basin Search & Recovery Club. He served as chairman for Southwest Idaho Area 3 Agency on Aging Advisory Council, and as chairman of the SW Idaho Senior Citizens planning & policy Council 1990 – 1992. He received thanks from Idaho's Attorney General for improving Idahoans' nutrition, a letter of Congratulation and Thanks from the White House for Community Service in 2002, the Jefferson Award for Community Service presented by KBOI, and a medal for 1st place in the 2010 Senior pool games in the State of Idaho. His motto was, "If something needs to be done, I'll do it."
Charles was a lifetime member of Meridian Lodge #47 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Masons, El Korah Shrine, and the Order of Eastern Star. Chuck was also a member of the Cherokee Nation, United Methodist Church of Kuna and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kuna.
Chuck passed away on August 14, 2011, and will forever be in our hearts.
